custom spoiler, pics and progress so far.
i bought a older spoiler off of a 82 (i think) to replace my old warped and peeling areo wing that has no hope of being fixed, for less then 15$ i decided to make it what i want! and heres how far i got today... pics taken with a camera phone so its not best quality... and remeber not done yet! lots of sanding and some filling left.
heres what i started with

looking nice! It looks like it'll be a cross between the stock spoiler you started with and the camaro high-rise spoiler when you're done. I have something similar in mind for my 84 T/A but decided that i'm starting off with a camaro high-rise to modify and i'm going to chop it a little shorter.
Do you plan to extend the middle legs also or remove them?Definitely keep us posted, I'd love to see the finished product.

ok i got progress done but no pics yet, i ran out of hardener cream so i could smoothe the rest out yet, and when i went to get some i realized it was sweetest day... and have you ever forgotten a holiday where you have to buy your girlfreind stuff?! not pretty so i had to spend the rest of the day looking for somthing last min. anyways for the center post i plan on basicly making what i did on the ends so that they slant forward like the end peices do... i was thinking since i had 2 tail lights for the spoilers i would stack them or somthing to make a big light in the center... just an idea though ill mess around with it in a few more days when i get some time.

Hahaha alright. I saw it and thought that it was replacing your spoiler since you said your original spoiler was all cracked, then I was like "WHAT?! Its on TOP?!!!!" Looks good, can't wait to see it finished.

looks pretty sharp, get to work! haha I'm modifying a 91-92 high rise for my camaro gonna lower it down a little and widen it some so it matches with the curve of the rear quarter. Also building my own version of the 5inch spoiler like johnyiroc except curving it backwards like the stock spoiler.

i thought id give it a shot at making my own before i buy one that i wasnt too happy with, ive already had the materials laying around, my dad does alot of custom boat stuff so i have infinate amounts of fiberglass and resin and fiberglass filler, spoiler only cost 15$ at a local yard too, and ive been wanting to try some fiberglass work see how hard it really is.

How are you going to mount it? If you just use the 2 ends, you won't be able to open your hatch.

its gunna mount on the stock areo wing holes on the trunk, i have some mounts i made but havnt put on the spoiler yet i have to pull the old one off and then mock fit it a few times before i attatch them i dont want to have a crooked wing!
basicly its gunna mount like a high rise wing. just in the holes that are already on there
