gahhhhhh...

i'm eating at jack in the box with my girlfriend and this guy comes up and is like "is that your blue camaro out there"

i'm kinda confused but i reply "yes....?"

........ ........"i'm really sorry but i backed into it...you might wanna come take a look at it..."

his truck busted my driver side tail light, dented the quarter panel, cracked the bumper and splintered the paint on it, and even threw the spoiler off center...good news is that we already have it taken care of and i'm getting an estimate next weekend and will have it fixed as good as new soon enough. i'm just really glad he came in and told me instead of leaving...that woulda sucked really bad

dont have any pictures of the damage uploaded from my camera just yet but i'll get them. this sucks b/c i am taking it to the FAST meeting tomorrow afternoon at Babler State Park, and i wanted it to look real nice....

Wow sounds like a nice guy, if it were me the fact that he kinda went out of his way to tell what happened would probably make me less mad about the damage, id still be P.O'd but maybe not as much. and then after realizing I had a meet to go to I'd go back to being steaming mad.

yea honestly, my girlfriend was really shocked at the fact that i was totally cool in the situation....she looked nervous as soon as the guy said he ran into it b/c she knows that car is my baby. but afterwords she was like WOW i'm proud of you you didn't even get mad....honestly i'm more thankful that he came in and admitted to it. he coulda screwed me out of alot of time and money...

the only 2 real reasons i got kinda steamy about it later on is

1) this thing JUST got out of the paint shop a few months ago when i got the front and rear clips, and the windshield area painted, and now it's gonna have to spend another week in the shop....

2) that meet is tomorrow (today), it is my first meet with the club and i wanted to make a nice first show with my car, now they're gonna be like " it dont look as good in person that's for sure..."

oh thanks for the compliment...the photos make it look nicer than it really is

the hood and trunk need a new paint job b/c the they are both showing oxidation. and they are both bad enough that buffing/waxing won't repair the damage. good thing is you can only see it if you're right up on the car in direct sunlight

but yea in about a week the car will look better than it did before b/c since they have to repaint the whole quarter panel, that oxidation spot from when i lost my gas cap and it spilled gasoline all over the quarter panel, that'll be fixed for FREE!!

they're fixing the alignment of the spoiler, doesn't look that damaged but it is off center...

thanks the estimate is being taken this saturday, and will be in the shop hopefully the following week....then as soon as it gets out of THAT shop it goes straight into the interior upholstery shop to get it's new top on, thn it goes into a tinting shop where i'm getting 15% . pretty sure that'll look pretty nice, but yea i just can't wait to see it looking goood again

Yeah the tint really makes a car look different.. If the cops wouldn't of hassled me I would of left the tint on my front windows... But I plan on getting a lighter tint this summer

That damage doesn't appear to be too bad. From what I can see it only looks like the rear bumper cover/fascia was damaged, not the quarter panel, shouldn't be too bad. The shop will likely want to charge you about 200 for a new tailight, I'd hit up your local junk yard for one. Good luck.

i aint payin' a dime for this....the other guy's insurance is....and in the close up of the quarter panel you can see where the dirt is kinda lifted away, that's where the damage is, it's not necesarrily bent outta wack but it definatly is creased, you can see if like hell in sunlight
