:( what do you guys think of this damage?

rain and accidents happen...

only a 3.1 rs, but was in basically mint condition at 69,000 miles. Still drives no problem, no leaks, and all systems work properly.
Worst damage... radiator core pinched inward enough to where the intake duct wont allign with the air filter...maybe i could push that back myself?

Pre-accident, I wanted to keep this car dead stock till i could grab hold of project z28 or iroc.

Since im probably stuck with a totalled car, should this be my project made early?

If I restore it back to pre-accident, would it still retain stock value? or has ANY car thats been in an accident already lost this value...I guess its up to me, but what would you do?

Ive always wanted my f-body to be white, so maybe this is the chance if i make this my project car. Still, that would mean painting everything but the new passenger fender, new bumper cover + gfx, and new hood... so maybe thats a bad path....

just too much to think about with college tuition and all... ugh

Since it looks like it's just the front part of the frame, you could probably have it straightened. To get a good estimate though, you should take off the fenders, front clip, etc before you take it into the body shop, otherwise they're going to give you an estimate that includes straightening out the fenders and getting a new front clip.

You can just get some new fenders and a new front clip at a wrecking yard for much less than the body shop will charge.

Same thing happened to my old car. Note how I said "old" car. It was totalled, frame shop said $500+ to fix straighten, then I needed new radiator, fenders, hood, headlights, fog lights, radiator fan, bumper cover, side markers, etc. I cut my losses and bought a Trans Am. Sorry to hear about the car, hopefully you can get it done cheaper than I could have.

I had a similar problem with my Firebird. I've spent less then $300 on getting a new nose, fenders, headlights, headlight motors, bumper support, etc. I didn't take it to a body shop to have them look at the frame but everything bolted back up pretty close to original. The only problem I've had so far is the drivers side fender, and headlight (which are on the damaged side) didn't line up properly to the hood. So far pretty simple and only cost me a few hours at the junkyard and ebay. The best advice I can give you is to be sure to keep the proper bolts together. We lost a few of the bolts to the fender and we ended up putting in a few odd bolts in to hold it in place.

that sucks bro

IMO it could be straightened back out...doesn't look too bad from here, but you never know till you get into the dirty stuff.

you need to show us pictues of under the fender, and bumper. My friend wrecked a 90' firebird the exact same way, and krinkled the frame. However it could still be fixed you just are going to have fun straightening, and realigning everything when you put more pieces on. With a decent area to work and some spare time, it can be fabbed back together.

Have money? will fix!!! No problem bro... That can all be straightened. Insurance will pay you off though because it's going to be more than what they consider the cars worth. I don't know about the guy who did his for $300, no slam on him but thats almost a miracle. You're looking at $$$$$$$$$

Going with used parts from the "for sale" section or a junkyard will help alot. If I had to guess off the top of my head, it looks like you have around $2k in damages. Radiator support, possibly radiator, header panel, front bumper cover, probably the front bumper reinforcement, the hood, the fender, the inner fender liner. Toss in a few hours on the frame machine more than likely and some paint, and yeah, I'd say about $2000.

Edit: To give you an idea, this was about $1200 in damages. 3 hours on the frame machine to pull it up 1.5" and over 1", a new front bumper cover, a new radiator support and radiator, new brackets to hold the front fascia to the bumper cover, new header panel, paint and labor.

finally had the time this break from classes to take the damage off...and this is what I found.

I got a used hood and bumper , so ill put those on and drive to a body shop for an estimate on the frame machine. Can I Drive without a fender legally? I know a need a bumper, but since the fender has the side blinkers... Id assume it would be illegal.

Any thoughts?
