hey guys a while back my car was broken into and the guys tried to make it start with a screw driver.... and in the end smashed the crap out of my column.... rendering me with singnal lights that dont work any more and a car i have to start with a crew driver.... any way there are alot of bone yards around here with parts... but i need to know what steering colums are the same... will a colum out of a sport coup work in my iroc.... i do have cruze control but it no longer works any more so i dont car about a colum with that option all i care it that it has "tilt" any way what years are the same im sure they will all bolt up but im woried about the wireing hanesses hooking up the same... and again there are alot of bone yards but they mostly have sport coups and RS model camaros to choose from....

Colums are the same in the birds and camaros from 84 up to some year that I am not sure of. 83 down used a different shifter lock cable due to the 3 speed tranny. You will be safe with anything from 84 - 86. Likely newer too but I am unsure of that. Perhaps someone else will chime in. Make sure it has the same options as yours, ie auto trans, tilt, cruse and int. wipers.

yeah man that helps alot.... ive got an 83 z28 parts car that i have back at ware i used to live about 2 hours from me that i dont realy want to drag up here so i was looking to just buy one any way.... lol the 83 z is my old beast but due to a crap load of rust under neath and a rust hole in the strut tower it became a parts car for the 86... even though alot of it is no use to me being my iroc-z most parts are of better quality so i wouldnt use alot of the 83 parts any way....
