Glass vs. Plastic T-Tops
Is one better than the other as far as quality or anything? I have plastic now, wondering if going to glass would be an upgrade?

The lexan (plastic) is about 1/3 the weight I'd guess, but they crack and look bad. I switched to glass since they don't get those nasty spiderwebs. Basically they're the same thing- a roof.

the plastic ones crack(spider looking cracks)
The glass ones scratch
The plastic is lighter
The Glass is heavier.
weigh your options. If nothing is wrong with yours don't bother swapping.

lol, ok, sounds pretty straightforward. Mine have some of that spiderwebbing...doesn't bother me that much so I guess I'll just leave them be.

the plastic 1s pop out easier at elevated speeds
I run plastic for the quarter mile and glass for daily driving/ top speed runs

you can wet sand and buff the plastic ones and make them look like brand new. I was going to buy new ones, but while I was wet sanding and buffing the car I thought why not wet sand and buff the t-topps. It works on my plastic taillights. Came out better than I could have wished for. No more new tops for me!!

A fair amount of the Lexan ones I've seen are actualyl spiderwebbed through the whole sheet, not just surface scratches.

If I wanted to paint a set of tops, would I be better off painting the lexan ones?
I've got an extra set of each, and I want to get that hard top look for the car.

Axle/Gears: bunch of 10 bolts how scary is that
Id be worried about the flex in the lexan to mess up the paint. I could be wrong tho.

I second that one.
Paint it with bumper black, after all how often do people sit in their T-top and look up and go "Waow the sky is so blue today when I look through my T-top Lexan waow"
