Need help with speedo.

I really need help with my fixing my speedo, it doesnt work. I got this car for free so I obviously didnt really car what specific things were wrong with it. It is a 1991 Firebird. The other owner swapped in a 350 and a T5. The T5 is from a 1984, the guages and wiring in the car are from a 91. I have searched and only came up with how to convert from mechanical to electric but never the other way around. Anyone have any suggestions for me?? Could I get a new VSS and hook it up to the old transmission??
Please help, my parents wont let me drive with out a speedo.

you need an electronic vehicle speed sensor for a T5 put in the tranny.

check out this link:

you'll need to also replace your speedometer gears. The drive and driven gears. Your local gm parts dealer could help you with that, as long as you know you're rear gear ratio.
