...........oooorrr.....you could just pop the light and pop the hatch manually
You might need to remove the solenoid though, then you can pop it. 10mm bolt

hmm.. I have just ever used the good ole cop way of getting in.. which is to take a flathaed screw driver.. line it up with the key hole and one swift smack and the turn.. ussually works if the lock is already messed up.. since you need a new one anyhow...

How do I pop the latch manually? The taillights are in but the whole centerpiece between the taillights is out. And can I pop it from the outside? The key won't even fit in the hole and I don't see any bolts or anything?

actually you know.. i think he was talking about crawling into the back of the car, popping the rear light in the well, and then popping it.. talk about a PITA route to take if that is what he meant lol
Also another great way to do it is if you have a drill.. drill the keylock out.. by what you are saying you need a new one anyhow.

I've done it once in a JY when I couldn't reach the back cause another car was smashing the back. It's *** cause you don't really damage anything, but if the lock is already bad you might as well go with the drill way since it's gotta be replaced.....oh and if you do it from inside, make sure the car is NOT in the sun. The hatch REALLY magnifies the sun's heat! I got an instant sunburn!
