ok guys ive got a black 85 iroc...i need a new steering wheel. in my old formula i had this wheel http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...4&autoview=sku
i liked it but it was small and made the car hard to turn. but would that style look right in a camaro like mine?
this is the one im really thinking about getting http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...4&autoview=sku
what do u guys think?? oh and feel free to leave me some pics of your interior with some nice wheels. thanx

if you have a Pep Boys or any other large auto store where you live they should have a grant steeing wheel selection right in the store. you could just go in and look at them all in person and I know the one I always go to will let me take anything outside to the car and check fitment/looks as long as I leave my drivers liscence with the cashier.

I have an '86 Camaro with a Grant Challenger GT wheel, exactly like the one in the picture. I think it fits with the car's looks pretty well; it wouldn't if it was the chrome/wood grip version.
It's a fairly small wheel though, so if you think it's going to make the car harder to turn then don't get it. I personally like the smaller size, it makes the car easier to drive since I don't have to move my hands around as much.

ive got a factory leather wrapped 99 camaro steering wheel. it keeps the stock look and is very comfy to use. i chose it cause i want a stock appearing interior, 99 z28 wheel, 01 camaro head unit, 96 camaro seats, etc.....

i have one that might be a cheak knowck off of that... looks EXACTLY the same but the center cap does not say GT. it came in my car and i love how thick it is, but i wish it was the same diamiter as my stock wheel, i have to have it tilted up or i can't read my speedo (GTA digital dash, speedo where the signal light indicators are on most birds)
if i could get my stock wheel that thick and still look normal i would go back to a stock wheel for sure.

RE: Steering Wheel Choices...
Is it known if any other automobile manufacturer's steering wheel swaps out? (like Toyota wheels being interchangable, etc?).
Momo sure makes beautiful steering wheels, but are they ever pricey! Nitro

this is the steering wheels that i bought from Auto Zone, if you have that store in your area. And yes i did put it on straight, just had the wheels a little crooked when i snapped this picture. was thinking about paintin' the middle red to match the car, but not sure if that would look corney or not.

RAm AIR/ RE: Painting Center Cap RED...
RAM AIR: Your car has a lot of red on it already, but if you took a fine paint brush and just outlined the 'GT' letters and maybe the very center of the rivits, it would add a little 'pop' without being too loud. Or if you're good with the rattle can, you could spray the whole cap and then quickly wipe off the top surface with laquer thinner it might lay down a real even color. You probably already know to use plastic/fabric paint and not metal paint. Nitro

I think that the vast majority of the Grant wheels are cheap tacky crap that belongs in an offroad jeep, not a muscle car. But, their higher end Collectors series stuff with the leather wrap are nice. I've got a Grant 1130 collectors wheel with the billet bowtie horn. It's a tasteful combo that doesn't have the cheap look and feel that most of the Grant stuff has.

As for the wheels in question, I agree with Jim85IROC--those grants looks cheap and tacky to me.

The problem with a stock wheel is that you either need to be REALLY lucky, or spend a ton of money to get a nice one. It's not uncommon for a like-new Z28 wheel to sell for $300. The smaller diameter of the aftermarket wheel also makes for a more pleasant driving experience.

I see. They're a lot less expensive in my area. Still a fan of the stock appearance though, but I'll forgive you if you go aftermarket to save some dough.

I just might be ordering this one soon. I'm not sure how I can justify the 360$ price tag + install kit+ leather wrap + horn button.
It is a billet specialties wheel at summit.
