E-brake recall

I have just noticed there is a Emergancy Brake Recall on most of the thirdgen camaros. I guess after you change the rear shoes or pads. the E-brake adjuster can fail. Leaving the ebrake barely functional. Anyone else ever hear about this?

I have not heard about that.. Only problem i have ever had was the shaft inside the e-brake lever came unhooked from some darn thing on the inside of it. I have no idea where it connects. and I can pull the shaft and the button right out of the thing if i want.. the rattleing is one of those things that drives you crazy.... although the ebrakes still work... just makes things a little hard to unlock lol

IIRC, there is a TBS on the e-brake, but for manual cars only.

There was a recall for manual transmissions, only a bulletin for automatics.

that also only applies to the rear disc brake models.. I have seen few with those.. most have the drums.

sorta on topic. But say. Aperion. do you know how that e-brake button (shaft) connects to the e-brake on the sindie of the handle to keep it from being able to be pulled out? and rattleing around?

there is a phillips (crosspoint) screw on the "grip" portion of the ebrake handle. with that unscrewed you will be able to slide the plastic grip off of the handle. leavingh the sharp metal frame below. under no curcumstances oporate the handle with this cover removed without a rag or glove. it hurts . the button, shaft and spring should now be loose in there. what you probably have is a broken shaft. getting one from the junkyard is the cheapest solution.

huh really? i should take a picture of it and post it.. I know about the little screw in the side.. had to take that off when i removed the top trim of the center console... Perhaps with a picture of the shaft you could tell better. it looks like everything thing in intact...

I would look at my other cars.. but my luck all of them would end up that way and I am not about ready to deal with more rattles lol
