I was leaning toward a 4th gen, or a 91-92 aero spoiler for my GTA, but finally decided that the original aero wing style for the 85-90's looked the best with the ground effects.
I say stick with the aerowing, G&T Fiberglass has a fiberglass replacement for like $325 bucks.

Of course it is a matter of opinion, but I think the 3rd gen piece looks a lot better on our cars, as it does not sit up as high as a 4th gen spoiler. Here are a few pics of the one on my Formula:

iansane is right. Square peg, round hole. The 4th-gen looks great on models it was designed for, but not on the bigger 3rd-gens.

Look at some of the pictures on G&T fiberglass and tell me that copper/orange transam doesnt look sweet with that spoiler. If a thirdgen has both the ram air hood and the 4th gen spoiler it looks 10 times sportier. I do also like the stock appearance but I like to modify stuff. But its just what a person likes and their opinion.

well i think i will go with the 3rd gen wrap around spoiler. The 4th gen one just will not look right on a red formula I think. maybe it would look good on a late model GTA. now here is the big thing should i get one out of the junkyard or order a fiberglass one. I can save hundreds if i pull one out of the junk yard but im scard it will crack like my spoiler i have on now. the fiberglass on is so high in price but its worth it i guess

You have the earlier style spoiler on your car right now, right? Well, the later '91-'92 style, like what is on my car, aren't known to crack like the earlier models. So, if you find a nice used one, I don't think you'll have to worry about it cracking easily. Perhaps others can chime in on this as well...

I had the crapped out OEM wrap around to start.. bought a highrise because it was affordable at the time and then, made a tough call on what for the new.
Went 4thgen which, its just a tall version of the 91-2. I was a little leery at first but, now, I really like it alot. It's a mix between the highrise & the wraparound which, I like both.

I personally like the 85-90 Wrap around the best, and the 91-92 2nd best on our cars. However a 91-92 T/A with the early spoiler or a 85-90 with a 91-92 spiler just looks all out of place. I think it is the whole package that really gets it for me.
The 4th gen... not for me.
