sick of searching
So i have searched continuosly and have not found the thread i'm looking for. I remeber seeing somewhere a full write up of how someone put a 2000 dash in a camaro. I ask this becasue i have the entire interior for a 2000 z28 and the drivetrain. I really would appreciate a response on this. At least a link to another thread. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Brandon

thanks i have read this a couple times and it really doesn't do much but say to try whatever works. I was kind of looking for the thread that talks about where to cut the supports and where to mount the dash to the firewall. This is the only thing holding up my ls1/4l60e swap so i am kinda desperate to make this work. I have also been worried about mounting the center console as the console from the car is an auto console. I don't know if anyone else has a helpful thread but something regarding this would be helpful:
Where do you mount the dash to the firewall?
Where do you modify the existing dash supports?
How bad is the install of a auto console if your using a 4l60e?

Hawks did the LS1 to 3rd gen swap and was detailed in "High Performance Pontiac" magazine. In this page, he's saying to call him or e-mail if you have any questions: http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/92_formula_ls1
Otherwise try to secure the back issue from HP Pontiac, I subsribe, I'll see if I still have it. After a while though I give them away.

that was actually what i was looking for. Thanks. I was wondering though, i haven't seen much written up on the heaters controls. Will i have trouble getting my heater to work? I am not running a/c so i just decided it would be easier to run some ducts to the feet and defroster and not really worry about the dash vents. I hate how everybody makes it seem so easy but i know i am gonna freak when it comes time to actually swap.

oh and what if the airbags were deployed. I am going to reuse my steering wheel so i would really only have to worry about the passenger side. I don't have one their from the factory so would i just remove it and seal the flap down?

For the heater blend door you can use the cable from an s10 and mount the cable the opposite way. As for the airbag, I just removed it from the dash assembly before I installed it. I hope this helps.

ever blow an airbag out of a car? put it face down with 25 feet of wire connected, touch it to a car battery and it'll launch about 50 feet in the air

My friend recently got into an accident in his 00 z28. He spun and hit the wall 6 times driving down the freeway on a rainy day. He said he hit the wall, hit his head on the steering wheel and then got hit in the chest by the airbag. He said the worst part of the crash, was getting hit by the air-bag. Honestly, if i wasn't gonna get a huge fine, i would take the airbag out. I haven't known more people get hurt in an accident by the air bag than without. The only ones that were protected by the air bag were the ones without seatbelts. I always wear seatbelts and am scared s***less of the airbag.

Nope. Cheap bastards at Ford.
Not that I care to much. I got it when I was 17 years old, I had just started working full-time, and I desperatly needed something to get myself back and forth to work. It gets the job done, barely.

No such luck. I'm close to getting an L98 IROC, but the guy's bank is flipping us some BS.
Anyway, I think we hijacked this topic long enough.
