The rod that goes from the inner door handle to the opening mechanism broke in an ice incedent and I need a new one. The problem is, the dealer said that GM no longer makes this part and I have checked a number of restoration and aftermarket supply places and I came up empty. Does anyone have any thoughts about this? Thanks.

 

Your best bet is to go to a junk yard and pull one off, or place an ad in the parts wanted section here and someone will have what you need.

 

If you would have put your location in your profile I am sure someone from your area would have pm'd you buy now with an offer for a free one. Just come over and pick it up. If you live near me I got a couple of old doors that have the parts you need send me a PM.
