Yea it was pretty crazy...sounded like someone ejected out the car....by the time I figured out what happened I could see it bouncing along the highway in the rear view mirror.

that happened to me once when i had lexan t tops on my car. my buddy wanted to show off how they come off. he forgot to lock the pass side one. at 60 it blew off the car, at 11 at night, in february. i turned around and found my t top off the road about 10 feet into the woods leaning up against a tree with out a scratch on it. if it were my glass tops it woulda been toast. the moral that i gained from this, very few people are allowed to touch my car, this particualr friend has lost that privilage.

Man that sounds so friggin dangerous! I'm glad in all the cases above there were no cars behind you...I can imagine what a lexan top going through a car windshield could cause!

Well, I had just finished washing my car and took my tops off. Looking good and topless as i cruised down to the beach. Of course when i picked up my friend he wanted to put the tops on so not to mess up his hair. I agreed and gave him the passenger side. As i drove around the corner all of sudden i see my friend half way out the window. Before i got a cance to recognize what was happening my friend looks over at me and says, "I'm sorry, i didnt lock it first. And when i tried to catch it, i scratched your paint." That was the last time i ever let anyone toch my tops. It cracked to hell and then got run over by a truck. I somehow manged to keep the locks though!

oh and yeah, my locks were replaced by the previous owner for the same reason they need lube right now (keys hate the doors) and so the t's dont match the door locks, it sucks. but the latch still works! any ideas about replacing the locks though? would i have to replace the door locks too?
