What to do about antenna?
Ill be repainting my car soon, and doing a few body modifications, i would like to shave the antenna as it sticks out like a sore thumb, is there anyway to still be able to get FM radio reception without the antenna?

Check with your local Glass shop, some of the 82-85 Berlinettas used a Windshield Antenna... I think it may have been on the S/E too, but not positive. Also some exported cars to Europe had the W/S Ant.
EDIT: I just called my local Glass Shop, and they can still Get the Windshield WITH the antenna, $227 INSTALLED!!! That includes new moulding too

I have read that you can put the antenna up under the dash, and the reception is just the same as if it was out on the fender. i can't verify that though. I plan on trying it when my Formula gets reapainted next year, I am shaving it off of the fender.

i recal reading that too. i can't remember who it was, but he drilled a small hole in some plastic under his dashpad and mounted the antenna to it so it was going along under his dash pad. then he put some foam around the end so it would not make a racket under there. i always figured i would do that one day. but i think i am just going to convert to a power antenna. more GTA like anyhow.

Putting it under the dash pad work just fine. Just find a antenna that has a small base to it..
I have heard of people puting them in there headliners to. But more of a pain to do

I shaved mine off and just put it under the dash (not the pad). Took the pass. side panel off above where pass. feet would be.
Stuck the antt. up through there, behind consol and went on the driver's side of car and pulled antt. through and pushed it up and over the steering cloumn.
With it toching the coulmn my reception was poor, but then I just put a pc. of thin plastic bettwen antt. and coulmn and it fixed it.
reception aint quite as good as it was with antt. on the fender.
If on the fender was 100% then where I have it now is about 85%
But I do live out in a hick town back in the sticks, so most of the local FM ch. are 40-70 miles from me

If I remember right both Kandied91Z and redraif left the antenna hooked up and slide it up under the dash. That's what I've done with mine but the welding isn't done to fill in the fender, so unlike there's mine looks like ****.
edit: apparently someone else did it too!

I decided on a power antenna. I got the one from JC Whitney b/c they have the remote mount one so it can fit inside the fender...
