91-92 Aerowing Interchangibility
Ok, I have been shopping around for parts for my formula and found some spoilers, i found some 91-92 aerowings on ebay that are factory blems the guy has a red one that will match my factory paint, my question is will the 91-92 aerowing fit where the 1989 factory aerowing was fit on my car. Are the bolt holes the same, they look to be, but i just wanted to check. Thanks in advance...

do a search man...the hatch on the 91-92 is different there are hooks on the hatches that hold the spoiler on...pre 91 dont have them so you have to fab something up to hold on the arms from what i know the back of the spoiler bolts right up or you just might have to drill new holes and patch old ones

I installed the 91-92 spoiler on my 86 Trans Am which had a standard hatch and spoilers installed sometime before I bought it.
I drilled 2 new holes for the 91-92 spoiler and used 2 of the holes that were used for the base wing.
I didn't use anything on the arms that wrap around the window, besides weather stripping to keep it from rattling.
Spoiler was fine at any speed (went almost 160mph with it on there).

use a plastic to metal bond appoxy. works great and when you want to take if off use a very thin cut off wheel. this is for attaching the ends of the spoiler to the hatch glass trim.
you will have to drill new holes but it is no big deal.
That guy on ebay is the bomb with the factory blerb spoilers. he sent me one that was cracked bad and before he got paid for the insurance I was mounting another spoiler.

thanks
Thanks for all of the insight on the 91-92 spoilers, too bad they dont just bolt up... I dont really feel comfortable drilling the hatch, I'm afraid i will get it mis aligned or just screw something up, so yeah I'm going to have to go with a 89 aerowing. But I thank you all for the info.
