worthless fuel gauge

Alright so anyone else have one of the camaro fuel gauges where they like to go from full to empty when slamming the brakes or going around a turn? Ok maybe not that much but after a half tank my gauge is very hard to follow with how much gas in actually in the tank. Frequently going around turns it will go into empty and come back up. I know the float must be sloshing around a lot but is there any fix for this. I just want to make sure its common with all f-bodys and not just mine...my gf's 89 RS does it and it seems to be worse with her car...

Get a gas tank with baffles is about the only thing you can do to fix the problem. I hate how I cant take a corner or a big curve with anything less than half tank or my car will start to sputter and die because all the gas is on one side of the tank.

Within the next year or so I plan on swapping my current tank out with a plastic LS1 tank.

I have that problem.

Ill put my brakes on really hard and BAM, it goes all the way to empty, then crawls back up.

I hate GM fuel gauges. They are horribly inaccurate even with the modern ones.

My G/F's 87 camaro does that too. Best idea is to do what was previously mentioned, a tank with baffles. I put one in my bird and never had the problem again.

GM guages are purposely optimistic and pessimistic. They show full even after you have used several gallons and show empty when you still have some left. GM's argument has been that it inspires confidence by the driver, and helps keep people from running out of gas. Illogical points, but then, when was the last time GM was ever logical?
