TA cowl hood

alright been trying to find a decent price hood for a while... went through most the forums but with the search function down its kinda hard... trying to find a good price for a TA cowl hood of some sort... i really like the daytona and the twin turbo hood isnt bad if i changed a few things on it... a regualr cowl hood its gotta flow with the stock body lines... and i havent found much that do, most have reverse of the stock body lines or are way larger lines down the center... and im thinking if im going to buy a model specific hood i shouldnt have to do that much fab work just to make it look nice... so tryign to find some sites or companys you guys recomend... be it bolt on or lift off i dont mind... my intake and carb setup is a little big and im hitting the factory cowl with a 2 1/2 inch filter... i need atleast a 2 1/2 or larger cowl to clear a small supercharger or atleast a bigger air filter...

Stock

pick up a v6 hood cheap and mount the scoop of your choice on it, i am sure a local tuner shop has a book full of attachable scoops you could use. if you were closer to ct i could get you a v6 hod cheap.

that wont work for him. hes not doing it for looks, hes doing it to clear his carb and air cleaner.

im in the same boat except i need it to clear a HSR. im thinkin of just goin with an RA1 hood because thats the only decent looking hood i can find.

i know it was perfect... i looked at every company i could with that standard cowl hood... harwood, glasstech, tones of them... none of them look half as nice as that hood... i wounder if it isnt a custom job... i might just do that if i have to a standard cowl then just shave or raise it to match the body lines... the smaller cowls seem to have the reverse body line indented... then the larger 3 inch plus cowls seem to have a huge center line like 1/2 inch taller than the stock lines... but if its fiber glass i could just be carefull and shave down the line to match... ive been looking just not poping up alot online really same style for everyone that makes them...

Yellow Hood

Thats what I mean by using a v6 hood. For note I didnt mean leave the regular sheet metal under the scoop, the end result looks like the yellow hood.

i dont know if its the angle of that 1st pic but is the front of the hood sitting to high. All the rest of the lines match up nicely, makes me wonder how well that hood is made

i dont think it was harwood... i looked at all there hoods that i could find and that center line is way higher... someone probably shaved that down to match the stock lines... i found a company out of newyork that sells them for camaro and firebirds with what looked to be a 3-4 inch cowl for 265 bucks... but i have to get ahold of them during buisness hours and see how much frieght would be and if its a bolt on or pin on hood.
