check out the progress!
started prep work on the 'roc this past week. we're hoping to have it sprayed by the end of next week...i'll be putting in quite a few hours during my spring break (next week). it's comin' along real nicely though. dont mind the mess in the back of the trunk, the interior is REALLY nice it just doesn't look like it in the pictures
http://photobucket.com/albums/e99/bl...mage&test=test
EDIT!
the final product! (other than buffing out the clear coat of coarse, it's not dry yet
)

Yeah, until someone opens their car door into yours, no plastic side molding = huge dent in door.
Nice work, keep us updated...

yea we're still not completely done with it, it still needs to be buffed/sanded. we have to put the TPI emblem on the bumper, we gotta get teh IROC-Z decals for the doors and get some black and silver stripes for around the bottom of the car, and we still have to put the spoiler, hood louvers, and front door moldings back on

Looks great man! Thats my car!(w/o T-tops) Is that the stock flame red
? You mentioned black and silver striping. Did it come stock with those colors or are u changing it up? My '89 came with red and black. If u do put on the black and silver post up a few pics, I would like to see it. I read your reply to my post about the aftermarket parts. Thanks for the info, hope my baby can look as good as yours when done. Keep up the good work!

it's not flame red, it's the darker, more maroon-ish color from '89. and it did come with red and black stripes but since i'm gonna be getting chrome wheels i think the silver and black will look better. i'll post pics for sure

and i hope everything works out for the best with your car!

but yea i'm not sure which ones i'm gonna buy, if i can find some good used regular ZR1's then i'll get those otherwise i'll probably buy the 3rd gen offset ones from SLP

In my personal opinion dont get the 3rd gen offset ones from slp, do the spacers and get the real deal they look better. The slp ones have the pointed center cap that looks plain out wrong and with the 4th gen zr1's you can put some 315's(17x11) in the back. Gotta love traction.

wouldnt putting spacers on your car put extra unwanted stress on your axles? and wont it push the wheel out too far? i dont know i havent used any spacer before.

it turned out pretty good, very good for a garage job. there were 2 runs in the clearcoat that we couldn 't buff out unfortunatly. but they're not even noticeable very much at all. my friends couldn't find them until i pointed them out

the convertible has original paint on it right now with exception to the front valance piece, the rear bumper and around the windshield and the tonnue cover. when i completely repaint it this summer i will be sticking with Ultra Blue (it's my favorite Fbody color ever!) I'm actually gonna have a body shop fix the dents on that one though because i dont want ANY flaws on it what-so-ever. that thing will be showroom condition this summer
