In Dash Screen

Does anyone have a Flip Out screen in a 3rd gen. Do you have to rig up a mounting kit so the head unit sticks out more than usual so that the screen came angle up enough so you can actually see it? I havent put mine in there yet but it looks like the top half of the dash, like where the hatch release and defrost is, is gonna be in the way of the screen coming out enough to see it. Anyone have a solution or any answers?

I have pondered this very question myself. Although I've actually never had the oprtunity to put such a device in my car. I have a 91 firebird with the mesurments that I got from my buddies LCD screen from his car I figured that with a regular stereo adaptor that you can get from wal-mart it should clear just fine. Just set the angle as far back as you can and it should be cool. The only issue that I've never got a chance to check on is this...will it clear the gear shift when it comes out? The screen itself is about the entire length of the unit itsself, the unit is longer then my stereo and I almost have to put the gearshift into neutral or reverse to get it in and out....Anyways, now that I've rambled on...I do believe that you should be fine with a regular stereo adaptor. If you need something longer it shouldn't be hard to modify one. Let me know how it goes...

Thanks for the picture, but on the T/A like in my years there is a part of the dash that like comes out right on top of where the radio goes in at. So I guess that I'd have to see a firebird with one.
