Is swapping an '91 GTA skirt/bumper to a '89 GTA easy?
I'm thinking of buying the side skirts and rear bumper from a crashed '91 GTA and then putting them on my '89 GTA. I never liked the newer front piece but I think these look great!
Will they just bolt on?

for the most part, yes it should. The pieces for the door will require drilling new holes though. As for the rest of it, they should be close.

As Mr. Burns would say..... "Excellent!"
Has anyone done this? With the original front but the newer skirts and bumper? Please post pics if you got them. Would love to see what it looks like. Thanx!

I started this but I never wound up finishing. I put the 91 nose on my 88 with no problems at all but that was as far as I got. I had other body damage and now I am tearing the car apart for pieces for my new 91 GTA

I would have thought the front to be the most difficult to swat, with the different stile headlights and so. But if that is possible then the bumper and skirts shoulb be as easy as....cake!
But does anyone have pics of a car with the older nose but the newer style skirts and bumper?? I could Photoshop it but I want to see it for real. Please post pics.

Here's a pic I had saved from a member on this site, I thought of doing the same thing. It's 91-92 rear and side, but 85-90 front.

I like it... I like it alot!
What would be even better is if someone has done this with a red car, because mine is red. So if you got pics please post.
What also would be interesting to see is a bird with the same as '89 trans am/GTA front, but with Camaro Z28 '91,'92 side skirts. Think this would look great! If you got pics of this please also post.

well i know the metal bracket the the door side skirt has has holes that are higher and lower so those will most likely have to be redone as for the skirt beneath i believe if you already have the metal bracket on your car it should slip right over and bolt up.
The front end was the easiest to do. take off old bumper from the black piece that connects under the hood and the side nuts. then take off the panels underneath and scratch pad. line the new bumper up screw the nuts on bolt the black bracket thing in place badabingbadaboom. o yea the headlight black covers have to be changed if you plan on doing it.

forgot if you do plan on putting them on make sure you line the 2 pieces of the side skirts up just right so you dont have too large of a gap or too small to where it scrapes your paint off every time the door is opened and closed.
