Rear bumper repair

Could anyone give me the typical price range for an average shop to take off an 92 camaro's rear bumper, pop a few dents out, smooth it out and paint it? not asking show room finish. I recieved one estimate over the phone at $350 and everyone else I call can't give me one without seeing damage in person...which is fine if there was an engine in the car.

I am not looking for an "it varies" answer...i was born at night...but not last night, i know it varies but i need a ball park figure 300-400 bux sound reasonable?

Thanks for any help.

also I find it hard to imagine your bumper has "dents"

now I have "crushed" at least one, and amazingly they for the most part "pop" back into shape.. however they are very flexible they dont really accumulate dents

and repairing them is a sucky job ill add

Might be cheaper to get a junkyard bumper and just paint it, than repair this one. Look into it.

And $350 sounds alright.

Thanks everyone for your help. It is black and the dents are from a 5/10 mph caprice bumping into it. the hood of the caprice caused a dent not a puncure and the head light made a depression. I doubt the egg crate is damaged and was looking for $350 being reasonable for removing, repairing, and painting.

thanks again.

More Help??

I cant find a thread that deals with "spiderwebbing" of the paint. I have an 88 IROC Vert and both front & rear bumper have quite a few cracks and spiderwebbing in the paint. Can i just sand them down and repaint if the damage doesnt go into the plastic?? What kind of prep if any can i do to prevent or lessen the chance of reappearance??? There isnt any body damage like dents/ tears/ rips. Looking to keep the car black .

Mike

U can get dents in bumpers. U can get them outwith heat. Than use a flexable bumper repair. I use and like evercoats ploxflex. If u live around the chicago area i could take care of that.To try to give a price without seeing it is hard to do. I would say around 300 to 450 .

I can get you a mint bumper for cheaper than repairing a dented one.
