I'm not sure what you're doing with it. Are you fixing it from the way it looks now or are you done with it?

For what a used one costs, please tell me you're not spending any time fixing that one!

that would be a pain to try and fix....you'd run a big risk in having it spider after paint

...I agree with jim85IROC - a used one is cheap and in better condition....with the condition yours is in, a new one would even be questionable (but why bother)

.....what happened to it anyways?

I hope the 'after shots' are of the dumpster pulling away from the curve.
Way too much work to fix that.

well considering it will cost my at least $150-$200 for a used one and $400.00 for a new one from gm. the part still has structure none of the cracks go all the way to the edge.

Also I did not do anything, blame the pre owner.

***UPDATE***

***UPDATE***
ok still not done yet (not much time to work on it in school lol) its been sanded, and repaired, all that is left it to prime and paint it It dose not look brand new, but being a new driver im am going to hit something with it
It would be better to break a $50 repaired pice instead of a $400 gm pice.

Like everyone else has stated, buy a new or used one. Those are a PITA to fix, it wont look right and if you value you time on a monetary basis you could have a better one already bolted on.

That's definently awesome if you can fix something in that bad of shape, but...it really probably won't last in the long run. What kind of materials/products have you used to fix it? Please don't say bondo....

lol na. I used some door screen and some speedgrip. the screen was like $5.00 cnd and the speed grip was $60.00 cnd it still flexes, but it keeps its shape. when i am done it will not look at all perfect. but like I said b4 im going to hit something eventually.

if you think your going to hit something you probably will end up hitting it

not the right attitude to have on the road

its not that hard to drive safe, and obey the driving laws and not hit something

I understand the saving some money aspect, believe me...Im po. But you spent $65 buck to repair the piece when you could have bought another for $120. What about junk yards even? I mean, youve already got the repair going so I guess its a moot point, but for twice the price, I would have just eaten 1 less Wendys meal a day for the week and gotten the new one and saved the time instead for something else. As Ive found, spending all that time on one piece may drain your will/desire to do the work yourself on something else more feasable down the road. Just saying...hopefully it will come out better than expected and look new anyway. But just something to maybe look at for later down the road...

Axle/Gears: huh?? guessing stock.
yea he spent 65 bucks on it. so what. he took a part that EVERYONE said to trash and fixxed it. he now has a bit of experiance. so now that he knows he can fix things like this on his own he might not be afraid to tackle a more involved job. I say "Kudos to you!" I wish that I could do that. Hell every one can buy a new part. but not every one can fix a trashed one.

sorry the update took so long, the camera was not working. also I ended up paying nothing for the repair's. I just bought the teacher a sixer and we called it even lol. Which is good because I bought a hatch and a new pull down motor for the hatch. 40.00 well spent. anyways heres some pics.

Good job man. There is definently an "art" to plastic repair...and you've got a good example. It would be great if you could let us know how it holds up

Good job!

Don't blame ya though...I'm beyond poor, and will be making my own Wonderbar and 3 pt STB. Helluva cheaper than $200, for the pair!

Besides, you might be able to get some repair work, out of other people, or something to show a future employer, of what you can do!

It's be great to see a pic in 6 months, to see how it held up, to prove the nay sayers wrong!
