Quarter pannel tips please.
Ok
I got my rear quarter panel and I am going to do it. I have been debating doing it for like two weeks now. But I have to do it. Any tips or tricks any one can give me. I have good metal fab and welding skills I have just never applied them to body work. Any tips would be great.

When you weld the sailpanel to the roof....just do seperate tack welds...waiting in between. If you just try to weld it up all together...the metal will get way to hot and will warp....creating alot more body work than needed. Make sure you grind down all the areas that are going to be welded.
Make sure to fit the panel several times before you make your first weld. You can actually screw the quarter on using self tapping screws and a drill to make sure you get the best fit possible. Make sure all of yoru gaps look good and that everything lines up.

Well I got started. I got the old one cut out and the new one almost all welded on. I am so far happy with how it is going. I am excited to be able to cut some of the rot out of the car by doing this. It looks alot better. Hopefully I will be done this week with it.
