I'm trying to find a good hiding spot for my iPod nano now that I have a Pioneer H/U that can control it. I want it to be secure (hidden) enough so that I dont have to take my faceplate, remote and iPod with me everytime I go somewhere, but easy enough to get to so that I can still use it normally. My first idea was to take out the rear ashtray at the back of the center console and hide it there, but there is a metal backing plate behind it. Can anyone with their console out, or anyone that has a spare console laying around take a pic or tell me if that metal backer behind the ashtray can be taken out? Thanks.

 

the metal backer comes out with a couple of screws
