Switch placement Descisions ?
Help me decided. As I have mentioned in a few other threads, I just installed power window/door/mirror wiring in my '89 RS. The question/problem is this.
The wire harness I purchased is from a firebird, thus the mirror switch is located in the center console ( I also got the switch) I see it this way: I have 3 choices.
ONE mount the switch and wiring harness as delivered and have a Camaro with mirror switches located like a bird.
TWO move the switch leg of the harness to the door and buy a new switch and be factory correct, and I beleive there is enough room in the door to tightly coil the excess wire and secure it.
THREE is as above BUT clip the excess wire off and neatly splice and heat shrink the wires to the correct length.
I am leaning heavily towards number three, but it delays installing my door panels as I dont have the switch and bezel, not to mention the extra 40 bucks or so I have to spend.
what would you guys do ?
thanks
Dan

I'd go with choice #1. Being a Firebird owner I'm biased but it would look OE and still be a custom touch. Heck, isn't that why many of us go with 4th gen leather instead of recovering our OE seats? My car has several custom tidbits that are actually from other GMs. Seats and belts from '01 T/A, shifter from '99 GP GTP just to name a couple.
