keep a third gen from becoming a jeep; window adjustment

Alright, I tried and tried. I'm not window master but I know where all the adjustments are. Please help me get this windows straight before I make it doorless.

I need the front of the window to go up, so rain won't come in. I need the middle of the door to go down, so that it won't contact the t-top weatherstripping (which then keeps the window outward half an inch )

u mean ur door hangs low?

if ur door is saggy,
ur door hinge bushing could be it..
my driver side's door hangs low and I have to really bang
them hard or the door wont close all the way..
and sometime during freeway drive the door kinda
loosen out a bit too.

This is my passenger side which does not sag. The drivers side does though. I just want to get this all the way adjusted today, so that I can put on the new weatherstripping this week.

My problems is that the rear upward stop is hit before the window makes it to the front upward stop. The motor won't push the glass any higher in the front.

I had a smiliar problem after I replace the motor. It ended up being that I put a metal slider on backwards. It's about 6 inches long and in the middle of the door. It can mount two ways.

There is a small adjustment channel(about 6in in long) right above the arm rest support brace.Just lossen the two 10mm bolts.Move the rear bolt up/down this will tilt your window up/down.Keep the window close to the top so you can monitor your gap.The stops wont change the tilting you have they will only prevent the window from going up too far or not far enough.......BTW if your window is too far inward or out.You can adjust this by lossening the 2 bolts(the 2 just inside the door facing down) on the rear channel(the one with the rear stop on it).Moving the bracket in/out will pivot the window in/out at the top.The other 2 bolts on that same channel(the 2 you can see on the door frame facing you) moving these back/forth will adjust the window forward/backwards.

I had always skipped these two bolts in the hours of adjusting, however I stumbled across them yesterday and like magic, the door is almost perfect. It even change other gaps that were marginal to good.
All I need is a little more fine tune adjustments to make the front of the window hug the weatherstripping and I'll be done .

Re: keep a third gen from becoming a jeep; window adjustment

I just wanted to tell you your post made all the difference in the world to me. My window was crooked and I pulled my hair out trying to figure out why. I read Eggplant Jeff's instructions but they were useless to me because I had that piecee in backwards and did not know it until I read your post. Thanks and thanks Thirdgen for keeping this post as a resource.
