shaving door locks only
Ok here is my question.
I'am shaving the door locks on my car, now, to fill the lock hole I want to get them welded, but I can't seem to find anyone around here to do the welding for me, Now would Bondo hold just as good? This is the only thing that is holding me back from the paint job I'am going to do myself. And if I could find someone how much of the door locks would I need to cut out to weld a peice of metal in it's place?
Thanks guys!
P.S if anyone that lives in the Winter Haven fla, area and is willing to weld them for me lemme know! :-)

You don't have to cut the locks, just remove the lock cylinders completely. And I wouldn't recommend bondo over a hole that size. After a while it could crack or shrink and look like crap. My uncle Bondoed a rust hole in the roof of my car when we painted it. And now I hate him for it.

no bondo, just a little bit of glaze. its called icing. can find it at franks or advance. i did mine myself last yr and i just cut a round half dollar size pc of 16 guage steel and tack welded it in. LOTS a tacks. lol grind the welds smooth and flush as possible to the door then glaze it with the icing. hope that helps. pm me if you got any ?'s- Supreme Member

ive used a few quarters to fill the holes. If your going to fill any hole, use fiberglass w/kitty hair. its much stronger than bondo and it will flew.
