full boy

Hello, I am wondering if anyone here suggests a good place (does a good job and well trusted) in the New Jersey area to get my iroc painted at an affordable price. It's got paint that is peeling off, so I think that coat will need to be removed first. I honestly don't know too much about the processes of painting the exterior. I am hoping to pay around $200? Any help is very appreciated!

Thanks!

I would recommend posting this in the regional boards and maybe asking around at your local shows.

And $200 will barely pay for the paint. $1,000 is closer to what you'll pay for a decent paint job. Nothing spectacular, but something that won't peel off like your current paint.

car paint

a "decent" paint only job will set you back a grand or so, the problem with these cars is that they tend to have hidden rust and other problems. my 86 was completely stripped on the outside, all weatherstripping, and body kit parts and bumpers removed when i had it redone, and they body shop that did it found a bit of rust hidden behind the quarter panel body kit as well as in the t-top area. this was all fixed before the car was completely repainted... for a painful but worth every penny $10G's.

I guess what i am trying to say is you get what you pay for, if you only want the car to look presentable, 1000 will do it, if you just want a new color on it that will fall of again in 6 months, 200 will do it, if you do it right it will cost you but it will last and look great.

when i get a new camera i will post pics or my ride

For the money you are wanting to spend, you may want to contact the local vocational schools in your area. They may be willing to paint your car for you as a class project and only charge you for the materials.

Ya, if you are looking for a cheap paintjob that makes everyting match, go with Maaco. Unfortunately I will have to go that route before I can save up enough money. Motor is next after I have everything matching.
