Doors

Where can I find a door for a 87 camaro? I need the frame and skin. The bottom of the door is rusted where the door skin attches. Has anyone ever reskinned a door before? And how hard was it? Where is the cheapest place to get a skin at?

if u know how to reskin a door its easy.. But the first few i did were kinda rough. And if the bottom of the shell is rusted out u will need a hole door.. Were i'm at u can get a door anywere from 50 to 150 bucks at the junk yards

The junkyard is your best bet. Especially if you need the whole door. If you don't have much luck there, try Hawk's and/or Classic Industries.

A used door from Hawks is $250. I might just wire brush out the rust and put some rust killer on it. Or if I can find a door in good shape in a junkyard here that is cheap I will get it.

If you're having a lot of trouble with rust, check out POR-15. Good stuff.

The lip of the skin is rusted. I will be primmering and painting it so I dont think POR-15 will help. I have some stuff I bought from Advanced that you brush on and it kills the rust and turns it into primer.
