Wet seatbacks
Ok, before everyone jumps on me about searching the posts, I already did that and that's why I'm posting.
Everytime it rains my seatbacks would be wet. I removed the seatbacks to dry them off. I found puddles of water under the seatbacks. It rained once again without the seatbacks and the puddle of water is still there. It's a little worse on the passengers side. I tried a bead of silicon on the weatherstripping even though the weatherstripping is good. Didn't do anything for me.
There is no other water coming into the car other then in the backseats. Now, I have an 86 with the godawful exterior mounted brakelight. The only thing I thought it could be was either the nuts and bolts that hold the glass onto the hinges are allowing it to leak since they are pretty rotted out or maybe the stupid brakelight. I don't know. Has anyone else had this problem?

He must mean driver and passenger seats. My rear floor panels would fill up about an inch deep with water. its the weatherstripping around the t-tops. particularly at the door i believe. it drains around the tops fine but when it rolls down across the window at the door. Thats where its coming in

The puddle of water would be under the cushions of the seatbacks or you can call them the backseats if you want. The water isn't behind the front seats, it's under the seat cushions in the back.
Headliner never got wet from this so and it's a pretty far distance if you ask me from the t-tops to the back seat so I'm not so sure it is the t-tops but any help would be appreciated greatly!!!!! Also, has anyone put louvers on the rearglass that was a little leaky and found that the louvers corrected that problem?

As posted before many times, you need to remove all upper plastics and headliner. Sit your booty in the back seat and have someone use a gaden hose to soak the car. As the water is pouring down on your car profusely, you will find out where the leak is coming from and you will have a better idea on how to fix it, or at least where it is coming from!!!

If just the backseats are getting wet, it sounds like it might be getting in where the hatch opens between the glass and the body up top
It might not be that much of a help becuase ive always been to afraid to leave mine out in the rain and various other elements, but it sounds logical enough to me

Many times the T-tops leak between the body and the weatherstrip. You have to make sure you seal the weatherstrip to the body AND you have to make sure the T-top bar is also sealed well... any leaks will cause you headaches, or at least asthma, because water has a tendancy to run to places that you would not expect.
The leak could be all the way in the front and it could run between the body and weatherstrip to under the T-top bar drip in some stupid holes and run on the headliner all the way to the rear plastic trim piece and then drip on your seats...
I highly doubt that your leak is from the screw mounting holes or the rear window weatherstrip, as most hard tops do not experience this problem.

You might be onto something there. Here is the thing, the headliner never gets wet or feels wet but I have seen water dripping out the sides of the plastic piece between the headliner and rear glass.

I read about the "t-top" adjustment. Has anyone tried this and had luck with it? I'm gonna try it when I get home from work just for the hell of it.

We'll see. I already adjusted the t-tops. Are you referring to the weatherstripping under that t-top where you would adjust the t-tops?

Ok, I forgot to post but we already since the last time I posted, have a torential downpour after I adjusted the t-tops.
I hosed that sucker down real good and not a single drop of water. I replaced the rusted out bolts that hold the hatch down with new ones, putting a layer of silicon on each side of the bolts. Not a single drop of water has gotten into the car. I think the t-top adjustment was the biggest help. So far, so good!!!!

Mine leaks at the same spot. The problem is a missaligned rear hatch which causes some water to leak between the top and the rear hatch. I still need to fix that thing. My car has no T-tops.
