Anyone know how to adjust?
My rear hatch is really unaligned but it doesn't leak thank God. But it really bothers me. The wing helps cover it up but I notice it. Anyone know how to adjust it?
Theres a few things to check out first. Some models came with an electric pull down mechanism. If that fails, it can leave it up like that. Also check to see where the rubber stoppers are set, In this case though i dont think thats the problem. If they were that high, the latch wouldnt really hook. If its not an electric pull down, and just a basic manual latch... that can be adjusted by removing the rear interior panel from inside the trunk. with that out, youll see the latch unit. There will be 3 10mm bolts holding it in place. lLoosen them up and see if the latch will slide down. the units have square openings for the bolts which are larger and allow a decent bit of adjustment. try that and it should help a little. it may be a combination of things but you gotta start somewhere

dont mess with the tech article, its a PITA and can cause you to lose the adj you made if you slip and you hafta start all over again.
i did mine in about 1½ hrs by myself. remove the hatch struts from the hatch and then the body. if you do it revers the pressure of the struts will push the bolt sideways and booger the last few threads making it a bear to get back in.
after you have done this, drop your hatch motor in the floor via the 3 bolts that hold it in. then go remove the panel between the headliner and hatch glass, under this panel you will see 4 nuts. loosen them but dont remove.
now with the hatch in the closed postion move it around till its right at the top, lower lip and in the bends right behind the seat.
once you are happy cinch the 4 nuts back down and pop your hatch motor in loosely and close the hatch, this will pre set it for final adj.
now that the hach is closed and the motor is cinched down, lift on the hatch to see if it has any movement. if no movement your good and may only need to adj the hook latch.
if you have hatch movement when ya lift up then loosen the hatch motor assy and move it just an increment. and i mean SMALL increments. it dosent take much. after that put everything back together and your good.
