Why take the chance when Camaro ones are available? Google "ThePartsPlace" I just replaced mine for 89 bucks.

The quarter panels are not the same. The Camaro is indented for the wrap around taillights it uses. The Firebird isn't as the taillights don't wrap around.

It should be. It's my understanding it's just the very back of the quarter panel that got altered for the Camaro. You could always ask a body shop or better yet, Year One themselves.

229 bucks ?!

is that for a full or a not a full one ??

i hope thats the price for a full one

wow...

yes the camaro and firebird ones are totally different shape for the taillights and im pretty sure one or the other hs wheel tub lip that sticks out further than the other too

totally different skins
heres the rear end of my 82 firebird QP http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...rch0607002.jpg

it is nothing similar to the camaros at all

im pretty sure the arch lip sticks out further on the camaros than the birds

or it sure seems like they do

what makes you think a 20 yr old part is going to be that much better than what you already have? Not to mention how much work it would be to weld the old rusty thing back on. If you've ever done bodywork before I'm sure you know what I mean.

You can get really nice used quarter panels, that are better than any aftermarket skin, plus it will fit better. Its almost impossible to find an original GM quarter panel. If you get a full panel from a used car its less work to just spot weld a full panel in instead of fitting and welding a skin on.

big poppa i recommend finding a parts car! Then you can cut out what you need and then weld it back in. In fact I recently bought a camaro shell. never seen a better shape body (NO RUST AT ALL), but it didnt have a vin number so i am cutting the floors out of it and replacing them into mine. I will have everything but the floors left over as the shell is concerned. If you want the rear quarter panels i will sell them both for $50 bucks, but either you will have to come pick them up or pay for shipping. or if you want the rest of the shell also ill take 100.

Basically just go to a salvage yard and look for a good shaped one. or go on craigslist.org and find a parts car near you.. just a suggestion

10 years. What difference does it make. Everyone does things differently. Its my opinion to use a used quater panel, but if you have a problem with that then to bad. Its not your car.
