'89 GTA ground effects on '88 firebird?

Ok, so I was thinking of making the sides of my '88 firebird a bit lower, and love the style of the '89 GTA ground effects. Basically.. I want to make this:

look like this:

I'm just wondering if it'll fit fine with the one year difference and model difference. Also, what are the exact words of these pieces that I should search, or what's a good website to find some. I know a few sites here and there because I've been looking at getting a new hood, but wasn't sure how much this ground effects project might cost me of where to go exactly, or if even possible.

Thanks everyone

Look on Ebay, JY or random guy whos selling

You need to weld a bracket on your rocker to hold the side pieces on
The rest drill and thru bolt on

Parts needed:
Front and rear bumper covers
Front honeycomb stuff
Front fender ground effects (hard to find)
Rockers (under the doors)
Door pieces
Rear quarter ground effects
Bolt on part of the rocker brackets - can be omitted if you just fab the whole deal in one piece of sheetmetal
Sheetmetal weld on part of the rocker brackets

Tip to make things easier:
Take losts of pieces of paper and measure out exactly where each hole is off the donor car. This saves lots of cursing later on

Opinion:
Thats a badass bird how it is, dont ****** it up with those silly ground effects, jsut lower it and be done with it

Good luck

Re: '89 GTA ground effects on '88 firebird?

hmm, I agree. It is a pretty sweet body.. About roughly how much would one of these whole kits costs, just as a ballpark estimate? I'm just wondering right now, as I'm about to paint the whole thing, so wasn't sure if I should do this yet, hold off, or do it in general. The main thing I love is the front. I love the noses of the GTAs. Those extra two spots for the fog-lights.. Is there any way I might be able to mod the nose up a bit differently so I could have a nose "similar" to that, without getting the rest of the body done then? Thanks for the responses

I sold 2 complete kits on ebay

$350 and $520

Thats just the parts needed, not including the time, the sheetmetal and metal work/welding, prep paint and installation

hmm.. that's not too bad..

Do you know if there's any nose, that can replace the '88 nose though? Like, those two black covers are pretty lame.. you've gotta admit. I was thinking about putting some fog-lights there instead, but wasn't sure if there was a piece I could swap out for that. Any ideas?

Something like... :

hah, i know it's a 2 second MSpaint-job.. but generally that idea. No gfx, however keep the foglight design under the headlights than those little pieces of black plastic..

I was THINKING that, but I'm not a fan of the 90's noses. They are too.. beak-like.. I guess. I wanted something a bit more "edgy" vs "smooth".

how about getting 82-83 Trans Am bumper cover And putting it on there like MNformula350 did to his 90 Formula.

Re: '89 GTA ground effects on '88 firebird?

ya, now that's a bit more on the money. I'll definitely keep that one mind.

I'm actually looking at the KITT pictures from Knight Rider, and am pretty interested in a hybrid of that one. I'm not trying to be a fan-boy, adn go ALL out with the the little shifty-red light in the front, but was thinking about the extra set of lights at the bottom.

And this way, I can actually get the nose without having to worry about any other ground effects around the edges as I would the front of any other GTA/TA. I guess I can take that 82-3 louver out and replace that with lights if need be. Does anyone think this might work at all?

Thanks
