Mounting GFX

Hello,
I have my new GFX sanded and primed, the problem now is mounting them up to my Sport Coupe. Does anyone have any drawings or diagrams on mounting the ground effects up to the car?

Re: Mounting GFX

You will need to install those metal brackets. They are hard to finds and if you do find them they will probably be rusted. When my body shop guy took mine off while doing the restoration he had to fabricate some new ones out of sheet metal. You might be able to go to the junk yoard and get a look at some to have an idea but I would not put those old rusty ones on my clean car. That would be bringing the cancer to the body of the car.

The metal brackets that are about 3 or 4 inches long? I have two of them, and they have been media blasted, so they look good as new. Where to they go? Infront of the rear tires right? Is there an exploded parts dirgram anywhere to show me where they mount up?

The dealership or any body shop has those exploded diagrams for when they need to order parts.

This is the site i used when i put my gfx on my old 85 sport coupe. I used aluminum angle instead of the metal strip for the side metal to hold up the ground fx. It worked just fine. There is another forum on here that i helped a guy with. If u need any help just ask because i have been there and done that. This is my old 85. You can see how it turned out if your not sure about my method. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2147369/2 -Matt
