Fender Plug?

Hey, Does anyone know were I can get a metal fender plug to go in the hole after I take off my power antenna? I found a rubber one, but I once saw a metal one on e-bay that fit right in the fender to make it smooth, but now I can't find one anymore. Any ideas?

Re: Fender Plug?

you don't like the radio anymore? just measure the hole and go to a hardware store they have metal and rubber. The metal will need to be bent though and the permanent fix is to get a piece welded in and it painted.

I took mine out a while back, and I plan on welding up the hole when I start my body work.

I put the antenna under the dash pad. The reception is still decent, but IMO the radio sucks these days anyway. No matter what genre you like each station has a playlist of about 12-15 songs that they just play over and over again.

Re: Fender Plug?

I saw a metal plug on ebay that went right into the antenna hole and made the fender look like it never had an antenna- but I can't find one now.
And I hate the radio (just listen to CDS) that's why I don't care about the antenna.

As for the rest of the ideas thanks a lot.

I took my passenger fender off a couple months ago to knock out a dent that was courtesy of the previous owner. While I was at it I put the antenna inside the fender when I put it back on. With the antenna in the fender the reception was basically non-existant unless I was within sight of a radio tower.

I looked everywhere local and couldn't find one of the hidden wire type antennas. Since I was too lazy to pull the fender again I just got an aftermarket stock style replacement antenna for $8 at AutoZone, pulled the dash pad, laid the antenna on the metal in the dash, ran the wire to the radio, and put the dash pad back on. It works pretty good, and no out of place antenna sticking out of the fender.
