Priming Factory Glass Hood.
Priming Factory Glass Hood.
Hello from down under, I'm hoping someone can help, sorry if this is already in another post. I have just had my Factory Fibreglass Bonnet (Hood) "blasted", (I think this was done with Garnet) to remove the paint, as there were some large bubbles from the paint job the previous owner had done, I assume these were due to some mistake in prepairing the surface or possibly the wrong type of primer (rest of the car was fine).
Can anyone advise what to Prime or Seal the surface with prior to paint being re-applied. I get the Bonnet back from the blasters tomorrow and need to get on with this ASAP, the car has to go to a panel shop to repair damage inflicted by an idiot who U-turned into my Passenger door. I'm getting a few touch ups while the paint is in the gun.
FYI, car is '82 Z28.
Craig.

Re: Priming Factory Glass Hood.
the same primer you would use on the door will be fine, most new primers are multi surface, just make sure it is compatible with whatever product the shop will spray (I like to keep the same brand to keep from issues later)
