Re: new here 1988 iroc

Hey bambam, welcome to TGO.Your car looks to be in pretty good shape other than the clearcoat peel.Have you had it a long time?It appears to be original other than the 85-87 wheels.By the way, what is the other car in the pic?I've been trying to figure it out for the last few minutes, and can't figure it out.

Re: new here 1988 iroc

got it in 2001 for the most part just stored over the last few years. plan on some aftermarket wheels, repaint, and engine build and supercharger over the next few years, trans has been built up. gotta love late 80's clear. car has just about every option exc. leather. i also have an 82z and had 86z and an 88 berlinetta.the other car is one of three reason i have not been able to get to the camaro, its a 1965 barracuda, others are a 1971 dodge demon, 1970 340 4 speed duster, and a 1987 chevy 4x4.

Re: new here 1988 iroc

yeah, she runs awsome the heads need re-done (smokes for a second on start up, comp. is good no leaks and still tpi with a bbk t-body and fesh 700r with b/m internals had some trouble with the rear end, had small center in the 9 bolt and lost the ring and pin so i found a 3 series carrier with 327's and good posi. and with the availible gears may look in to a 10 boltdown the road or just get the 370's

Re: new here 1988 iroc

if she only smokes a little on startup, and the compression is good on all cylinders, why not just replace the valve seals without tearing the motor apart. Its a very easy process IMO.

Re: new here 1988 iroc

well small blocks are cheap to rebuild and adding a supercharger to it i would feel a little bit better knowing that it was up to the task, its got 100k on it now. plus while the engine is out i can do a first class job on the engine compartment.

here is a pick of my 4x4.
