Do I need a whole new antenna?

Hey everyone, when I bought my GTA last summer the power antenna doesn't work. Not sure exactly why but I know that I don't ever hear the motor running so does that mean I need to buy a whole new unit? Because there a very cheap not used oem antenna package for sale off ebay...Thanks, Josh

Does the car still have the stock radio, or an aftermarket. If the radio has been changed out I would check the blue trigger wire first. Somethings just don't always stay together when they've been rigged. Also some cars have a separate fuse for the pwr ant, but I don't know about yours.

Is your mast up all the way???? Its not uncommon for the mast cable to break when the antenna is up. Most guys just unplug the antenna and call it a day. I have rebuilt a few where the motor still works but the plastic cable that raises or lowers the mast is broken.

You can still buy that piece at Wheatons for about 15-20 bucks......

If you don't hear the relay click, it may be unhooked (to prevent contstant operation).

My bonneville had the same problem. the mast broke but the motor kept running. since this is my daily driver, i left the antenna up, but i unplugged the motor, so now it is just a normal antenna.
