Battery Tray? Searched!
Hey all,
I'm looking for a replacement tray for my '84 bird. When I was poor, and still in school, I remeber seeing them in Classic Industries, Paddock, AMES Performace... ect... I just downloaded all of their catalogues, and the only trays offered are pre-81! Does anyone know where I can find one?!
Thanks!
Keith

Really there is no replacement battery tray because the stock one is part of the right front fender support. You will need to fab one and weld it in.

the used to be available form the sources you listed. No longer. you will have to cut one from a doner car or make something yourself. I adapted an afco fabricated battery tray from summit to work in my car. It fit pretty well and has a good hold down system. I think i still have some pics if you want them

Yeah, mine is pretty nasty too. You can cut one out of a donor car, or get the universal one at Pep Boys or something. Either way, they both have to be welded in.

I bought one from Canadian Tire, it looked exactly like the old one, I just put bolts through the holes under the battery tray, tightened em up, and fabbed up a way of holding the battery in place. Looks sharp.
