Prep car for paint and change color
What do i need to prep my car for a 2 or 3 stage paint job? Since i want to change the color from red to black is it better to strip the car for paint or is it possible to do while together?

Re: Prep car for paint and change color
it can be done with car all together . would be better to remove g.f.x. , door sills , spoiler , etc. . oh yes , if you have a bump strip on the sides of the car take them off . my car is coming out of paint shop in 2 days . i could not believe the rust pits under bump strip . they are cheap enough if you consider paying as much as book value of the car for a paint job . as i am doing . be sure to bag/label all hardware when you remove . good luck .

For it to be through paint job ie. engine bay etc. Does the interior need to be gutted/out of the car?
