Hatch pull down keeps running....
I did a search and am having a hard time finding the correct answer.
I have an 86 Firebird, and the hatch pull down motor keeps running after I drop the hatch down. It tightens, but when it looks like it should stop it keeps running. I have the relay unplugged right now.
is this a relay problem or something else?

I once had this problem when my plastic gear was stripped.after replacing the gear, i installed the motor too far down and it would never stop pulling. so try raising the whole assembly a small amount until it stops pulling

yes make some quick adjsutemnts but not sure why its giving you trouble now.
mess with the rubber adjustment screws, mount the motor assembly alittle higher.
you should hear a nice "click" meaning the motor is no longer running and the trunk is fully closed.
