Re: Found Battery trays!!!

FYI
I hope everyone knows that the orignal battery tray is part of the front fender support. And any replacement needs to be welded in.

Re: Found Battery trays!!!

I saw that same thing so I ordered the cat. and went to order the part. They state in the listing that parts may be discontinued at anytime and I believe that the tray is. The part number no longer works. FYI

Re: Found Battery trays!!!

Years ago you could just download a catalog from them as a pdf file. Might still be able to.

Re: Found Battery trays!!!

For What It's Worth....
While working on my '01 Blazer, I found that it's bolt in battery tray will fit in , and sit on top of the existing battery tray (if your battery is on the passenger side) would require 2 bolts in the rad support and one into the wheel well. I haven't done it yet but I'm still thinking about cutting my old tray out and bolting in a JY blazer tray
I know my bird is, and never will be a show car, so to me, it might be worth it.

Re: Found Battery trays!!!

I found the pdf file and here is a link to the portion that lists this part out of the Classic Firebird catalog. It is not found by searching the site.

http://www.classicindustries.com/pdf/F_SEC_N.pdf

The tray is on page 4

One bad thing. It is for the passenger side. My 88 GTA Battery is on the Drivers side. Aren't all Firebirds on the Drivers side?

On further review the same part is listing in the Classic Camaro Catalog using the same part number. That would explain it.

Re: Found Battery trays!!!

only the fuel injected cars had the battery on the driverside IIRC, my 86 with the LG4 has the battery on the passengerside.

Re: Found Battery trays!!!

If you look close at the picture and NO mounting brackets, so it requires welding it in. So for that price of $39.95 fab one up and have it welded in the correct way. These battery trays were not ment to be just bolted in.
