Re: Another 4th Gen Spoiler Thread

What I did was take some 1/2" mdf and hot glued it to the spoiler and shimmed up part of it to make it level with the rear deck.

How did you mount it to the deck lid? I saw the rear mounting studs were removed in the pics. Did you put them back in?

Re: Another 4th Gen Spoiler Thread

They thread in place, I have them out right now but will re-install them when I actually mount the spoiler.

It's going to have four mounting points and I may have to use some sort of 2-faced tape where it sits on the glass. We'll see

Re: Another 4th Gen Spoiler Thread

Get some 2-sided trim adhesive tape. If you use enough of it then it should work very well, especially if you clean both surfaces with rubbing alcohol before applying. Also as long as you don't have big gaps inbetween the 2 surfaces.

i agree the spoiler itself is pretty ugly. dont like the 4th gen either but you sure did a nice job making it fit. all that matters anyway is you liking it. nice job!!

home depot sells 1/2" mdf in 2' x 4' sheets for around $7 ...but any 1/2" thick wood would have worked.

I think it looks OK on 1991 and 1992 cars, but on a 85-90 car it seems totally out of place no matter how good the installation work is.
