Im in luv with my new notch back

Can tell it was never installed, had to grind some to get the hinges on. Will have to get some bolts to put the hatch shock and latch one but Im in love with it. Looks so much better then all that glass.

Also dropped some weight, rearend raised up a good 2-3 inches.

Reminds me ALOT of my fiero, I like it....

Similarly tho, I'd have to imagine that it'd have a killer blind spot.... or is it not so bad?

Re: Im in luv with my new notch back

I can't find who makes it, have searched and search and I find all sot of them but none like this one.

I put my 12 box in the back seat, to keep folks from wanting to ride back there.

I got dual mirrors and my old hatch had a gian't checkered flag sticker on it so I didn't lose much viewing room cept onthe sides, I actually gain straight back viewing. but man It so much better then I thought it would look.

Not gonna put the stock brid wing on it either, sat it up there and it suppose to be flat.

[ Might have to put it on my wagon instead ]

Though I really needed this to get my back into fixing it.
Parked it cause of a bad PS pump.
Gonna hafta fix the body some more, stripped it to bare metal and painted it but in some spots rust came back with vengance.

Ok only 1 problem so far, the rear-view mirror is to high now.
Gonna need to get one of them mirror glue kits and move it down 2-3-4 inches.

Try the nearest auto parts store. They have kits with those, and some just have the metal post.

I love the notchback man! I say steal alittle Ferrai thunder and get some louvers on it. Even if their non funcitional they'll still look bitchin, especially with a TA hood! or a IROC style hood!

68 Firebird hood scoops molded into the 86 hood at the apex so they face forward, functional.

Re: Im in luv with my new notch back

Pic of the front was after fresh paint 4-5 years ago, stripped it to bare metal and painted. Only thing I didn't do was the doors, they wern't worth doing right but were still painted.

But now I really need to get new doors, got a softball sized rust hole in one.
And near the rear wells some rust came back with vengence but the hatch helps get me motivated. Also keeps you form looking at the rest.

I could stare at it all day. Need to get someone to drive it and follow them around so I can see it work

Though I do just like being the only one in the hood with one "now".
Kid next door has gone through 4 Camaro's, wrecked them all in about 1yr, just got a nice black Firebird like mine. But now I have one upp'ed him as he did it again and put that monster engine in it, and will wreck it soon like the others. But as he rev's it when drving bye, he can drool over my notch. I know he wants one. [They do tractor pulls and he puts a spare 800hp engine in them after a few weeks, then a few months later its trashed, him and enigne keeps going.]
