floor pan repair or replace?

This is the F-body I owned, both had this problem. This first was a 89 firebird; which all floor started to rust and fall apart. But fortunally; I came across a 85 T/A That didn't seem to have much rust! But put a more beefier engine in it, trailing arms broke on the passenger side. also got rust on the driver floor where the you would put your feet at?

Mechanically! the car is sound, but should I replace the whole floor/ or should I look for another T/A. also I wanted know? Is hardtop stronger than T-Tops?

Thank You!

Re: floor pan repair or replace?

if the rest of the floor is good then just patching one part should be fine. And hard top cars will have less flex than t-top, but all of them should have subframe connetors

Re: floor pan repair or replace?

I had a hole about 1.5" diameter.. It was where the seam seal is on the firewall, so I POR 15'd it, and went on a seam sealing rampage.. it was hot.
