Can you remove the fenders and bumpers as on big piece?
Can you remove the fenders and bumpers as on big piece?
I have a 86 Iroc that is a parts car for my 82 z-28. I have the hood off already and wondered can it be removed as one big piece?
I searched and found nothing.

Re: Can you remove the fenders and bumpers as on big piece?
I know I have to remove the hood and the fenders. What about the inner fenders and what all has to come off front? I am trying to do as little extra work as possible.
Thanks so much
love the board.

I think you probably could remove the fenders and frt. bumper as one assembly but why would you. It's easy to take them off in pieces and even easier to store them that way.

The inner fenders cam't come off...EVER.
They are part of the welded subframe/unibody.
And there are only like 3 LITTLE bolts holding the nose to the fenders. It would be more work to leave them together, than to just take them off separately. Even if you got them off in one "piece", they'd be SO FLIMSY, they bolts holding the fenders to the nose (studs really) would snap.

take the time that you need to, to do it the rite way the first time. dont try to cut corners to make things happen quick. in most cases cutting corners will end up takeing more time and the results will be of lower quality. this goes for all things, not just cars!!

As already state dif you pull it all together you risk damaging it. You will probably end up tearing the front bumper cover

As somebody who's fully disassembled and swapped the front ends of both my cars I can say DO NOT try to remove the fenders and bumper as one piece. You will ruin them and make the job 3 times as hard for yourself. Take off the front bumper cover as one piece with the headlight bar, then the fenders individually.
