I have a 1992 Firebird with the 305 tbi motor. Anyways, I locked my keys in my car tonight, and managed to push the window down to get my keys out. The power window motor still does work, but it only brought the window up halfway. I tried fiddling with the window a bit, now the motor does not work at all, and my window is stuck at the bottom and I have plastic and duct tape over the door now. Could it be I just knocked the window off it's track? Is it possible to just remove the door panel and set it back where it belongs so that I can get my damn window up? Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks guys.

 

You definitely need to take the trim panel off and see whats going on in there. If you forced it down you probably bent the arm that it rides on. That wouldn't account for the motor not working now though.
Take the panel off and report back.

 

thanks man, i will have to do it tomorrow, as it is 10pm and i need some daylight to get things done properly. i dont think i broke anything, it didnt sound like it, it just feels like i slipped the window off the track it rides on or whatever, it feels like its hooked on something and wont pull up when i use my hands, hopefully i can see whats up tomorrow morning.

 

ok i got the door panel off and everything, nothings broken, i just knocked it off its track. does anyone have a diagram as to what it SHOULD look like so that i can put this back together properly? thanks

 

I hate to say this, but you could try removing the passenger panel and checking out that one...
Checker and autozone sell new regulator assemblies...
