Mirror replacement
Mirror replacement
Okay, I am trying to replace the passenger-side side-mirror casing on my '92 Camaro RS. It is a manual mirror, manual locks, manual everything. I have gotten the door panel off with no problem (well, with no large problems). BUT I've now discovered that the bolts holding the mirror on, are wedged down inside behind the small black triangle that sticks up from the door in front of the window near the hinges. What is the best way to get to these nuts to remove them and put the new mirror on? Thanks.
Re: Mirror replacement
I don't have an answer for you, but you best bet is not posting it the "Member Rides" section of "Appearance and Detailing" as that is just a place for posting pics of your cars. I have moved it to the more appropriate "Body" section.

I don't remember having much of a problem changing mirrors. If you have to you can loosen the bolts that hold the black triangle piece and move it out of the way but you should be able to get it without moving it. you do have the window down don't you?
Re: Mirror replacement
I just happened to be working on the inside of my door, albeit the drivers side, and I saw that I could access the mirror hold down bolts from the inside of the door with the window rolled down. The passenger side may be different but I would doubt it. I will be tightening down my passenger side mirror in a couple of days.... I'll get back to you then.

It's pretty easy, you just take the door panel off and the roll down the window so you can get to the nuts and take the two nuts off and out comes the mirror.
