Which hood.

I am wondering which hood looks better on the camaro. A cowl hood or the ss style hood.

Re: Which hood.

you've never seen an SS hood on a third gen because people down there have good taste.

SS hood = wrong, Wrong, WRONG! simply does not fit the lines of a third gen.

most people go cowl or original because those look good. SS and similar aftermarket hoods have are for "look at me factor". would you put an STI hood scoop on your car? same thing as an SS hood IMO, wrong hood wrong car.

Re: Which hood.

IMO it all depends on two things, your paint and your wheels, i prefer the cowl cause the SS is kinda goofy on the wrong car.

Re: Which hood.

there is no right or wrong answer to this question. It mostly depends what way your wanting to take your car. I love my SS hood. It fits the lines and how I built my car. If I put a cowl hood on it....it wouldn't flow near as good as the SS hood.

Where as this Camaro has a cowl hood...it's built completely different...

And like the 98-02 WS6 hood....I think doesnt fit the lines of a 3rd gen AT ALL....but with Justins 86 Camaro, it looks amazing.

Just depends how you build your car...wheels, paint, body modifications...allllll of that matters

Re: Which hood.

it all depends on how you build the car. the ss hood looks awesome on sickness91z28s car while an ss hood on my car would look terrible. thats why i gotta cowl hood. so whatever ever hood you get you can make it look good. except for the daytona iroc hood that thing is just plain gross no matter what you do with it minus charged350 his looks sweet but it is modified

Re: Which hood.

cowl hood hands down, but i guess it depends on what you are doing. i love the stock hood w/ luvers, but my motor wont fit with it so i had o go with a 4 inch cowl. if you dont need the room i wouldn't nessisarily change it.

Re: Which hood.

cowl hoods are played out. i think the ss hoods are nice as are the L88''s and the big block stinger hood. a cowl hood is plain and its seems most third gens with aftermarket hoods have a cowl

Re: Which hood.

Is the ss hood functional? Is it open? That would be awsome if you had an open element for air flow. Mega air.
What is a good web site to find these hoods. Cowl and SS? Thanks

Re: Which hood.

another option is the big block or stinger hood, its a 2" or 2.5" cowl with an ss-style front.
