I am in awe you have made as much progress as you did in the time since the first post. I didn't do my own paint, didn't have the resources or place, but my idea of taking my time with a project is going on 6 years.
Glad you decided to keep the car and it is turning around for you. The 91-92 Zs are a great looking car! Glad to see another one being turned around.

Re: Gonna save it!!
Hey Timmy, I was able to find (3) of the (4) weather stripping channels new from GM, the 4th one I am going to have to reuse my old one.
Did you find the channel new or used? Did you do anything to the (3) existing channels you had or even the new one you got to referbish it to prevent any leaking, such as new rubber strip on the body side, a lot of RTV, etc? Or were they in good enough shape where you just painted them up and slapped them on?
When I removed my weather stripping, they were starting to corrode, they seem like they are made out of some pretty cheep metal. The one I was going to reuse, I was going to paint up and get a new adhesive rubber strip (supposedly can be got at Home Depot).
Thanks

TIMMYS89GTA--The quality work you do is outstanding! Great work & dedication! I have 1 question-- did you use GM t-top stripping? I ask 'cuz mine doesn't seem to fit the roofline as well as yours. again--drooolll!! (PS--I used repro stripping)

Re: Gonna save it!!
Finally all back together and road ready!Spent the weekend finishing up stupid little stuff and cruising it around.Turns out I did a pretty good job on my first tranny rebuild!woohoo!Yay me!lol Heres a few shots as of today.Still got to put in the d/s d/p (I lost the int. door handle)waiting on the new one to button that up.
Other than that, all new black int.-speakers and stereo!bah! What ya'll think?
For those of you that haven't seen this thread already, take a look at the first pics on post number 1 and look at these again.Same driveway, same truck and same car but no tow dolly.I'm quite pleased right now.

Re: Gonna save it!!
well the day it left my driveway was the last time I saw it so,no idea if that girl took care of it or still has it..I am assuming she does..she was very third gen knowledgable...that girl knew her stuff..lol..she climbed all over that car inside and out..asked about the tranny rebuild, test drove it with me as passenger..she had just her trans am and was looking for exactly what I had..automatic 91-92 z28..
as far as the 72...never happened..after several months of trying to get the title problem fixed..I gave up on it..it was sold to a company in South Florida that wanted it to use as molds for fiberglass pieces..
